Application process

All schools featured on this site are accepting applications from any student wishing to apply for the 2011–2012 school year. After you have decided on a school to which you want to apply, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Complete an application

Download an application or request an application by mail

Step 2: Apply to your schools of choice

For elementary magnet, magnet cluster, and open enrollment schools, complete the STANDARD ELEMENTARY application and send it to the Office of Academic Enhancement, 125 S. Clark St., 4th floor, Chicago 60603.  (This is a NEW process. Do not send the application to the school(s) to which you are applying.) You will need only one application per child, and you may apply to up to 20 schools.  You may only submit one application per child.

If a school receives more applications than there is space available, students will be randomly selected for available spaces via a computerized lottery. Students will be notified of selections during the third week of March 2011.
